“The Justice of God”

Read Isaiah 6:5

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”

How do you view your own good deeds? Do you ever find yourself taking your sin lightly?

Have you ever taken the mindset of “God will forgive me anyways” or “compared to others I’m not not bad/I’m pretty good” when it comes to your sin? How do you think that has affected your view of God and your view of sin?

Take a few minutes to ask God to search your heart and show you anything that is getting in the way of your relationship with Him. Ask Him to reveal sin in your heart that needs to be confessed to Him. 1 John 1:9 says, “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” Confess and repent (turn away from) to Jesus any sin that’s in your life. If you’ve been rationalizing (justifying or making excuses for) a “mistake” or a sin in your life, ask Jesus to change how you look at sin and confess it to Him.
