Weekly Challenges

The Joy Note Hunt

Each person write one thing you love about each family member in your house on a post it note, and hide them in a place that they will find them.

The Peace Jar

Each family member write one thing down that causes them to worry. As a family pray over each item for each person, and put them in the Peace Jar. At the end of the week dispose of the worries. Throw them in the trash or burn them safely in a fire place.

The Reward of Waiting

Bake something together that takes time (like bread or cookies). You can’t eat the “treasure” until it is fully cooled! Explore other options.

The Secret Blessing

Do a chore for a family member without them seeing you. The “treasure” is found when the other person realizes the kindness was done.

The Goodness Scavenger Hunt

Go for a walk and find 3 things in nature that show God is good (a flower, a cool rock, a sunset).

The Promise Keeper

Each family member makes one small promise on Monday. On Sunday, check in: Did you keep it? Faithfulness is the treasure of a kept word.

The "Egg" Toss Challenge

Join in teams of two (or three if needed), and play toss with a raw egg. Start close together (like 5 feet), and continue taking one large step backwards after each toss. Practice being gentle with the egg just as we’re called to be gentle with each other.

The Screen Sabotage

Hide the TV remote or tablets in a “Treasure Box.” You can only open it after the 1-hour Screen-Free Quality Time is finished for the week. Consider adding extra days of Screen-Free Quality time, and practice the same thing for each of those days.
