purpose

The NextGen Director leads TC3 Students and Young Adults in pursuing spiritual growth, authentic community, and kingdom purpose. This role exists to equip the next generation to follow Jesus for life—helping students and young adults know God, find belonging, and live sent. The director leads with prayerful discernment and relational presence while operating with strong administrative discipline. They balance pastoral care with high-level leadership—building teams, systems, and strategies that empower others to lead and multiply. This role requires both creativity and consistency, guiding two distinct environments under one unified mission.

Core Responsibilities Leadership & Oversight
  • Provide vision and leadership for TC3 Students (grades 6–12) and Young Adults (ages 18–24), ensuring both ministries operate under one unified mission and discipleship pathway.
  • Lead from 10,000 feet—empowering leaders to execute with excellence while maintaining alignment with TC3’s overall mission and teaching direction.
  • Shepherd and coach key leaders and volunteers, ensuring their spiritual and emotional health is prioritized alongside their ministry responsibilities.
  • Model a life rooted in Scripture, prayer, and dependence on Christ, leading out of overflow rather than exhaustion.
Team Development & Multiplication
  • Recruit, equip, and develop leaders for both Students and Young Adults ministry teams.
  • Build a culture of leadership multiplication by mentoring those who can disciple and lead others.
  • Foster collaboration between Student and Young Adult leaders to ensure smooth transitions and consistent ministry culture.
  • Celebrate wins, give feedback that builds confidence and clarity, and maintain authenticity and transparency in leadership.
Programming & Discipleship
  • Design, oversee, and evaluate weekly Student and Young Adult gatherings that are biblically sound, culturally engaging, and spiritually formative.
  • Collaborate with the Worship Associate for worship leadership within both ministries, maintaining alignment with TC3’s broader worship culture.
  • Develop teaching plans, small group curriculum, and discussion guides that equip leaders to disciple effectively.
  • Ensure both ministries consistently engage students and young adults beyond weekly gatherings through community, service, and mission opportunities.
Administrative & Systems Leadership
  • Establish administrative systems and processes to support both ministries effectively (Planning Center, volunteer tracking, guest follow-up, event logistics).
  • Plan annual ministry calendars in alignment with church-wide rhythms and major events.
  • Ensure ministry budgets are managed with stewardship, accuracy, and accountability.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with parents, volunteers, and church leadership.
Cross-Ministry Collaboration
  • Partner with XP of Ministry to align NextGen discipleship pathways with overall spiritual growth strategy.
  • Collaborate with XP of Experience and Guest Services to ensure Student and Young Adult environments reflect TC3’s culture of hospitality and excellence.
  • Work with the Worship and Production teams to ensure smooth Sunday and midweek service experiences.
  • Participate in staff and leadership development meetings to stay aligned with TC3’s mission and initiatives.
Culture & Spiritual Leadership
  • Lead with authenticity and humility, modeling a posture of learning and dependence on God.
  • Champion a culture of prayer, rest, and renewal among leaders and students alike.
  • Encourage students and young adults to engage in TC3’s core rhythms—worship, community, serving, and generosity.
  • Embody TC3’s core leadership values: abiding in Christ, loving people deeply, building others intentionally, discerning wisely, and following through with excellence. 
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Consistent engagement in both Students and Young Adults gatherings (target: 10% annual growth).
  • Leader retention and recruitment goals met per quarter (minimum +3 net growth each term).
  • 90% of Student and Young Adult leaders actively discipling others through small groups or mentorship.
  • Quarterly teaching plans completed and approved 30 days in advance.
  • Ministry budgets balanced and submitted on time each quarter.
  • Regular parent communication with >80% engagement rate through email or Planning Center notifications.

90-Day Success Plan

First 30 Days: Observe & Connect

  • Meet with XP of Ministry, current Student and Young Adult leaders, and volunteers.
  • Evaluate both ministry structures, rhythms, and relational dynamics.
  • Build trust with core teams and begin clarifying vision alignment for each ministry.
  • Audit Planning Center usage, communication rhythms, and ministry data.

Next 30 Days: Organize & Empower

  • Establish clear leadership roles and expectations for both Students and Young Adults teams.
  • Implement consistent communication systems with parents, leaders, and participants.
  • Create a shared annual calendar and teaching plan for both ministries.
  • Begin volunteer recruitment strategy and onboarding process.

Final 30 Days: Execute & Multiply

  • Launch an updated midweek rhythm for Students and monthly rhythm for Young Adults.
  • Begin 1-on-1 mentoring rhythm with key leaders.
  • Implement Planning Center follow-up workflow for new students and young adults.
  • Present 6-month ministry plan and discipleship milestones to XP of Ministry.

90-Day Rocks (Measurables)

  • Complete leadership and volunteer audit for both Students and Young Adults.
  • Establish and communicate consistent gathering rhythms for both ministries.
  • Launch new Planning Center workflows for follow-up and attendance tracking.
  • Recruit and onboard at least 5 new volunteers across both ministries.
  • Present 6-Month Growth and Discipleship Plan to XP of Ministry.
