Peace is easy to feel when life is calm. But what happens when anxiety rises, the outcome is uncertain, and your problems feel bigger than you? God met Gideon while he was afraid and hiding, spoke to who he was becoming, and reminded him that peace is not the absence of problems. It is the presence of God in the middle of them. When anxiety starts replaying the worst-case scenario, replay the truth of who God is. He is Elohim, the strong Creator. He is Jehovah, the Lord who draws near. He is Adonai, the One who rules over the outcome. And through Jesus, we no longer have to fight for peace. We can live from the peace already given to us through the Holy Spirit.
