The Passage

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.

Devotional

The truck I drive isn’t mine. It was a gift. Pastor Gordon gave me the keys when he stepped into his next season at Convoy of Hope. I was overwhelmed by his generosity. Later, Jenae and I were able to gift our car to a young woman in need.

Gordon got the idea from one of our elders—who had just given away a truck to someone else. That’s how it works at TC3. Generosity multiplies.

We’ve watched vans go to single moms. We’ve seen giving ripple through our community and the world. Why? Because at TC3, people ask: “Am I the most generous person I know?”

That kind of generosity says:
“God, everything I have is Yours—my time, my talents, and my treasures.”

The Practice

Pay it forward:

  • Buy coffee for the person behind you.
  • Take someone to lunch.
  • Offer to pray with a coworker.
  • Let God interrupt your day.

Generosity isn’t about money—it’s about your heart.
